Maidenhead is a town in the Berkshire county and lies along the Thames River. It is part of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and has a population of around 60,000.

Travelling to Maidenhead could not be much easier with it being on the main road and rail routes between London and Reading. Maidenhead also lies on the Great Western Railway which was famously built by the great Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

There is plenty to do in Maidenhead for the general tourist. The newly opened Norden Farm arts centre which contains a theatre and an arthouse cinema is a great place to visitaa. There is also an Odeon cinema and the Magnet Leisure centre in the town centre.

If you are thinking of eating out around Maidenhead you couldnt be more spoilt for choice.There are very well recommended Indian restaurants the Cookham Tandoori and the Emperor of India and also several excellent Chineese and Thai restaurants. The village of Bray which is known as one of Britains culinary capitals is a very short distance away. In the village are the Roux Brothers' Waterside Inn and also Heston Blumenthal's Fat Ducka which is renowned as the second best restaurant in the world.
